Yahoo update

Yahoo sent me another email, saying I’m in violation of their exclusivity clause. This comes after the email I received two days ago, informing me that the clause only applies to contextual-based ad services - which CrispAds and AdBrite are not. Yesterday’s email claims that I have contextual-based ads alongside Yahoo, and that’s a no-no.

I forwarded them the other email and explained that AdBrite and CrispAds are not context-sensitive. But I went ahead and removed the links anyway, because I don’t feel like dealing with a company that (a) is so disorganized they send me contradictory responses to a question and (b) doesn’t know the difference between category-based and contextual ads. It’s not like they’re a tiny little company that might not have enormous resources. They’re Yahoo. I expect more from them.

Besides, AdBrite outperforms AdSense by a decent margin, and Yahoo wasn’t even impressing me as much as AdSense. With those $100 payouts, it’s just not worth it. So in the place where I had put my Yahoo links, I’ve now put up some “Your Link Here” boxes. I’d rather sell adspace directly than deal with anymore third-party providers.

In a sudden fit of creative fever, I redesigned this site a little so it’s loading better now. I wanted some more summery colors. I’m not completely happy with the design, but I’ve procrastinated as long as I could, and now I really need to write some articles and submit them to article directories to promote my sites.
