Writing an eBook

by Sapphire (March 24, 2007)

I was telling an offline friend about Project 2168 the other day. She knows nothing about affiliate marketing or any of this stuff. I told her I planned to increase my online earnings by about $500/month within a few months with this new project I had going.

“I could never do something like that,” she said.

“Actually,” I said, just realizing, “you could.”

And then it hit me: ebook! Project 2168 really is so simple that the toughest part is buying a domain and finding a host for it. Someone who knows nothing about this stuff we do could still do this. So why don’t I write an ebook that details step by step how to do it? I could sell it for a few bucks and then later use it as a giveaway.

That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’ll also set up a subdomain here for it, with its own blog featuring updates, tips and results. But first I’m going to make sure my system really works - you’ll be able to watch the results as I continue to post on how it’s working.

I’m optimistic - I’ve already sold two new TLA ads this week - one on this site, but also one on one of the Project 2168 sites. :)

Can I just get the chapter on the domain name and choosing a host? You have no idea how many people out there want to start small sites for their offline work and haven’t a clue how to do it. I’m getting tired of them asking for hosting recommendations and then second guessing and asking again (often for a different one as if I’m a host directory!) or then they want to know WHY I liked a particular host and not another one (that I might never have heard of).

An eBook? Woohoo! Let me know when it’s ready and I’ll buy a copy!

Bonnie, LOL - I sympathize about the hosting stuff. I used to get homicidal looking for a good host. I’m no expert on choosing a host, but I’ll see if I can come up with something good. ;)

    Wil, cool! I promise I won’t charge $97. :D

I have been writing an e-book (diff topic) for over 2 years. I am sooo horrible. I have recently dusted it off…

When you are done with your e-book let me know so I can pimp it on my blog ;)
