Where the Pings Are

by Sapphire (April 12, 2005)

My big project for BlueMushrooms right now is to put together a really big page of blogging resources, tools, and information for bloggers. Today, I’ve already stumbled across something very nice that I plan on linking to - Neil Turner’s list of detailed info on several top pinging services.

This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of pinging services. It’s some good solid info on why these particular services are worth for most people, and why they might not be for everybody. Check out the comments left by readers, too - they add some that are specific to geographical locations that you should check out.

I’m putting together a comprehensive list of every pinging service I know, and then as I learn which ones give me better results, I’ll change the list to note that. It does take time to ping, so you don’t want to waste time on the ones that aren’t worth it. But it’s so easy to ping, that you want to make sure you’re not missing a great opportunity to get your stuff out there.

Another good reason to read Neil’s list? By reading what he says about these services, you’ll get an idea what to look for in others.
