What would you replace AdBrite with?

by Sapphire (April 11, 2007)

I’ve done well in the past with AdBrite, pulling in $20-40 every month back when that seemed like a decent chunk of change. Now that is dumping $250+ per month in my PayPal, those little AdBrite checks are becoming just another errand I have to run (to deposit them at the bank).

The reason I like AdBrite is that I can sell ad slots on a monthly or weekly basis. I don’t like PPC like AdSense or per impression banners like BurstMedia. I just want to sell ads (and if they put PPC in the unsold slots, like AdBrite, that’s fine).

Are there any other third party ad services you guys really love? I’ll even listen to PPC recommendations, if there’s something really special about them - like that you earned triple with them what you did with AdSense.

I don’t know if they’ll earn you any more than AdBrite’s currently doing, but a few you might want to think about are BlogAds, CrispAds, and HerAgency.

I’m signed up for BlogAds on one site - just not getting any takes yet.

CrispAds??? They ran off without paying people a year or so ago. Did a new owner take over or something? Site looks the same, with my unpaid earnings still sitting in there.

I signed up one site for HerAgency, though. If they take it that might be great! Thanks!

Oops, I thought I’d heard good things about CrispAds, but now that I think about it, if I did it was a loooong time ago.

Good luck with HerAgency. I don’t know how strict they are on that 500k impressions per month thing.

Others that I’ve thought of since my last comment are BurstMedia and Adtegrity.

Ah, I thought maybe you’d heard something new about CrispAds. That’s okay, then.

Yeah, that site of mine has got something like 343,000 impressions but a strong community, so we’ll see what HErAgency says.

BurstMedia has only let me into their banner deal which is paid per impressions. My problem with it was when MOST of the ads they offered were either popups or some other sort of annoying stuff that I’m not fond of serving to visitors. Still… I may do something with them at some point, when I have a blog that’s got enough traffic for “impressions” to add up.

Off to look at Adtegrity, which I don’t know!

Wow, Sapphire, you made almost 10 times as much with Text-Link-Ads as with AdBrite? Why is that the case? I’m curious what Text-Link-Ads does better. Maybe I should give them a try…

I’m not sure, Joseph. are direct links from your site to the advertiser, so that alone makes them worth more than third party. Beyond that, I’m not sure why people are so much more willing to buy TLA on my sites rather than AdBrite. But no complaints - I prefer the look and quick-loading of TLA anyway, so it’s a huge win-win.

I think the trick with Burst is to get into their BurstDirect program, where you have more control over which ads are shown on your site(s).

As for HerAgency, I think they’d be crazy not to accept you, but if for some reason they don’t approve your application, you should email them and politely explain to them why they’re making a mistake.

I’m in BurstDirect. It’s just that once I’ve crossed out all the popups and other offensives, there’s not much left. Last time I checked, anyway.

I haven’t heard from Her Agency either way.
