Trying out MyGeek’s PPC
by Sapphire (March 21, 2005)
Okay, so I just got done saying I was gonna go sign up at BlowSearch and try out their click-fraud protected PPC. When I got there, it said you could start with as little as $20. Turns out this is not true. They’ve upped it to $50 without changing the website. Lovely.
So I joined one of their partners who is also using the same click-fraud protected PPC network: MyGeek. They do let you start out with $20 - and for me, just testing the waters, that’s all I want to risk getting absolutely no return on. So I’ve got an ad running side by side with AdWords. It’s a little different - you just get a normal search listing and a lot more space to write your ad. On the other hand, you have to sift through their kajillion partners and decide which ones you want your ad seen at (this is where it’s helpful to have some knowledge about “paid to read” and “paid to click” sites that so few people on the net know anything about: you want to avoid networks that get run through those, because they’ll eat up your PPC without pausing to chew, and you’ll get nothing for it).
So I’ll keep you updated on what I learn, whether I find it’s worth it. I’m still hanging in on AdWords - sometimes I think it’s turning around. Really not sure what I’m missing on that one.
