Trimming down my feed list

by Sapphire (July 24, 2007)

Lately I’ve been experimenting with ways to trim fat from my daily schedule. Today I decided to eliminate some blogs from my feedreader, which always seems to have “more than 100″ new posts for me. The funny thing is: who I eliminated.

I got rid of a lot of the A List/big guys/gurus not because I dislike their blogs, but because:

  1. If there’s anything really interesting going on from this group, the little guys I read will link to it and write about it.
  2. Some of these bloggers are the most prolific on the net. My goal is to read fewer posts and still be reasonably clued in. Having them put 3 posts a day each into my list is just painful, even when they’re all good posts.

I hadn’t thought of it quite that way before, but B and C list blogs can filter the A list for you so you miss nothing by not reading them.
