Trimming down my feed list
by Sapphire (July 24, 2007)
Lately I’ve been experimenting with ways to trim fat from my daily schedule. Today I decided to eliminate some blogs from my feedreader, which always seems to have “more than 100″ new posts for me. The funny thing is: who I eliminated.
I got rid of a lot of the A List/big guys/gurus not because I dislike their blogs, but because:
- If there’s anything really interesting going on from this group, the little guys I read will link to it and write about it.
- Some of these bloggers are the most prolific on the net. My goal is to read fewer posts and still be reasonably clued in. Having them put 3 posts a day each into my list is just painful, even when they’re all good posts.
I hadn’t thought of it quite that way before, but B and C list blogs can filter the A list for you so you miss nothing by not reading them.
