The end of CJ
by Sapphire (July 12, 2006)
I haven’t looked at the new CJ javascript links, and I’m not sure I’ll bother. I’m hearing unpleasant things about them not working so well, but I’ve got a better reason to be sick and tired of CJ: the length of time it takes them to lock in a commission.
I get a commission on ShareASale before the 20th of the month, and I will get that commission in my bank account at the end of the month. With CJ, who knows? I’ve currently got a payment that’s been sitting in there well over a month, still “unlocked”. I’d prefer a net-30 or even a net-90 system to this. At least it’s predictable. With this, it’s up to the vendor to lock in your commission. And since this commission is actually on a delivered food item, I fail to see how there could be any question. Either it’s been paid for and delivered, or it hasn’t. Either the commission should be locked in or rejected by now.
Add to this the fact that ShareASale is converting better for me than CJ, and I just don’t know why I bother.
So, unless I see some huge change, I’ll be deleting my CJ links as they expire, and replacing them with product links from ShareASale and others I’m trying out.
