StumbleUpon really should let us see who’s linking to us

There’s only one thing I don’t like about StumbleUpon: when someone Stumbles your site and you start getting lots of traffic, there is no way in hell you can see who Stumbled you. Because the page that winds up in your referrer stats just takes you to a landing page urging you to launch an ad campaign.

Oh, lookie, a clue:

The ten seconds after I’ve discovered that someone has linked to me for free are not really the optimal time to hit me up for a paid campaign.

It is, however, the time to make me love your site completely and have warm gushy feelings about StumbleUpon so that when I do consider launching an ad campaign somewhere, I think of StumbleUpon and feel happy. As it is now, I have lots of love but also some massive irritation associated with them.

I just want to see who’s linking to me. Maybe that person could be a valuable social contact. Maybe I’d like to StumbleUpon something of his. But no.

    Amen sister!

This really gives me the irits!

I wish people would leave a comment when they stumble one of your posts, that would make it much easier. At least with sphinn, you can see who sphunn you post.

Hey, you should try SiteHoppin too, unlike StumbleUpon, you can earn traffic to your site by ‘hoppin’ or putting our Beer Widgets on your blog. Why add more value to the heartless souls behind SU?
