Redefining Article Marketing

by Sapphire (October 18, 2006)

Britopian’s Online Marketing Blog offers a refreshing perspective on article marketing. The gist of it is: writing a crap article and submitting it to hundreds of directories is not the way to go if you want your site to have any sort of longevity or credibility with users. Even worse is when you post the same crap article to your own site, creating a duplicate content situation.

He (I think it’s a he recommends writing quality articles that pay attention to every aspect of marketing, and submitting them to a few high quality directories. In other words, time should be spent on the writing, not the submitting.

He also recommends making it easy for visitors to bookmark your posts in their favorite social bookmarking sites, but we already knew that, didn’t we? ;)

I have found that you can write a pretty decent article in about 300-500 words. If you write a good one and then go to a few of the higher rated article sites and submit your article, chances are that many other people will use your article on their websites which gives you a link coming to your site ( if you used a link in your article pointing to your site ).
