Quoting Policy
If you’re interested in quoting from or reproducing articles from Blue Mushrooms, here’s what you need to know.
- The Fair use copyright doctrine enables you to quote excerpts without permission, if and only if you link back to the original post it came from, make it clear these words are not yours, and do not quote it for a commercial purpose. This is standard copyright law, and applies to every website, and no webmaster has legal grounds for telling you that you may not quote an article. However, it’s kind of standard practice not to quote so much that there’s no incentive for your visitors to click over to my site.
- Reproducing an article in its entirety is scraping, period, with or without attribution. I will notify Google (I’ve done it before and it works) and send you a Cease and Desist notice, and you don’t want to know how many figures you can be sued for if you don’t immediately remove the offending article(s).
- You also may not quote this site in an offline medium such as a book without proper attribution. I would also very much appreciate being informed about this.
