PayPerPost opps paying more

by Sapphire (March 12, 2007)

A couple of months ago, I posted about PayPerPost’s change in terms. One of those changes was that opps now had to pay at least $5. My initial concern was that they might be pricing themselves out of the market, and the number of available opportunities would drop. One of the other changes was a reduction in the number of opps one blogger could take in one day: it dropped from 6 to 2.

I’m not sure if it’s the combination of those two clauses, or if what PayPerPost offers is simply worth $5 per blog. I’m thinking that be reducing the number of opps one blogger can take in a day, they may have caused the opps to get more widely dispersed, which would attract advertisers. You don’t want all your sites having the same inbounds, so why come back if time after time, you just get 80% of the same blogs posting your links. That’s not good blog marketing. I know PPP was concerned about the effect of “PPP blogs” - blogs clearly set up for no purpose but paid posts - and I’m guessing the limit of two per day cut down on some of that.

Or maybe the results people are getting from PayPerPost are easily worth $5. Because whatever the reason is, I’m seeing opportunities for hundreds of dollars on a regular basis now. Am I qualified for any of them? Oh, no. They’re for higher PR blogs than mine. But I can qualify for offers of $15 and $20 pretty regularly now. That’s the same as a pretty decent affiliate sale commission. Instead of trying to make every other post a PPP post, now you can just sit back and do a few a month, bringing in a decent bunch of cash. Or, if you have better PR than I have, you can make some scary cash.

Just remember to play by the rules. Two posts per day, make sure you have some sort of disclosure, and follow any specific rules for the individual opp.
