Page Rank Update! 4/21 - check your sites here!

Finally, Google has updated pagerank after a long, long wait!

You can check out your pagerank using the Future Page Rank Toolbar here on Blue Mushrooms. But you may also want to try your sites at this page rank checker, because it’s getting different results, and it shows one of my sites improving where the other did not. Woohoo!

So far, people are reporting better than expected results for their sites. Some were expecting drops but stayed level, others improved more than expected.

I’m excited - four of my sites, including this one, jumped from 0 to 3. Some people did much better than that, but I only started building sites last fall, so I’m feeling pretty good about those results. One of my sites stayed at zero, but I think I know why: it just isn’t performing at all, and may well turn out to have been a waste of my time - that’s okay, these things happen.

I’m especially excited about that blog I nicknamed the “B-2 Bomber” here - a blog that started as a hobby of mine but is growing at a very steady pace. It’s outperforming this blog by a good bit, even though it’s much newer.

Page rank really shouldn’t matter unless you’re trying to sell ad space or linkage to a site, in which cases some people refuse to understand that Page rank is not the be-all end-all of evaluating potential partners. And while selling ad space isn’t a big focus for me, it’s nice to have some pagerank just in case that sounds like a good idea at some point.
