No-follow tags removed

I’ve never really paid attention to the no-follow debate since those tags became standard on WordPress.  Today, this site got rejected by PayPerPost for having no-follow tags, and that forced me to rethink.

I still don’t understand quite what the deal is, but it seems to me that:

  • No-follow goes against the sense of community and cooperation that’s so central to blogging
  • It doesn’t stop the comment spam, that’s for sure

So I’ve added a plugin to kill no-follow tags on my blogs.  If you have WordPress and haven’t really thought about the no-follow thing, it’s worth considering.

If you haven’t done it already, you should email PPP and tell ‘em what happened and why, then re-submit your post for payment. I had a problem a few months ago with a broken link, and they were more than happy to pay once I’d fixed it up. Good luck!

Funny – I just got an email saying it’s approved now. I resubmitted just after writing this post. :D

Bingo! I has a similar problem with my marketing article site! I was initially refused, but later accepted. But I changed my mind because of the low fees they pay, and other strict conditions. But good luck anyway!
