New theme & stuff

by Sapphire (January 17, 2007)

I’ve been toying with new themes off and on for a while. I think I’ll stay with this one.

From now on, no more sidebars on the left. That just makes the bot’s journey to your content longer.

I’ve also gotten rid of several ads that weren’t performing well anyway. Now it’s just and AdBrite, which is where most of my revenue from this site was coming.

There’s not much else going on at the moment. Project Mai Tai still has PR 4 but doesn’t appear in the Google index. This makes less and less sense the longer it goes on. Project B-2 Bomber is setting new traffic records this month as its community grows.

More later.

It’s a great looking theme. Interesting to learn about the left/right column.

Making spiders to read your content of home page first and then forcing them crawl inner pages will help you in terms of SEO. Spiders crawls your site from top-left to bottom right.
Try placing your content at extreme left side of page and your navigation links section to the right.
This will ensure that crawler will move from your sites content first which is useful.

Bonnie, it seems like Google’s added a lot of indexed pages, so may this theme thing really works.
