New Directory! Submit your sites

by Sapphire (July 16, 2005)

Instead of doing the 58 other things I had planned on doing in the past few weeks, I’ve instead built a new directory of sites.

ChillyCool.com

So start submitting your sites! I don’t think I have my submission rules up yet, but they’re the same as on the BlueMushrooms directory. I’m going to be a little bit pickier with ChillyCool, however: I want it to be good sites. That means a site that’s nothing but crappy articles and AdSense will not be accepted: however, a site well-researched or thoughtful articles and AdSense probably will be.

The point of this site is to be a really good resource - not just another crap-o directory. Because I’m concerned that eventually Google will stop looking so favorably on directories that were thrown up without a thought and have nothing else to offer but the same bunch of links 500 sites list.

So this site’s a bit more than a directory, too. It also has a blog that I’m still setting up, and when I get that set up, you’ll be able to submit articles with links to your own sites. To any page of your sites. The site links will appear at the bottom in the “About the Author” section. This gives you serious linkage via permanent inbounds. I’ll get into more detail when I figure out exactly how to work the submission process. But these things are going to great for your inbound links, and my visitors will be getting good content, so it’s a big win-win.

I’ll let you know more about the articles and how that’s going to work when I’ve got something set up. I’m working on it over the weekend. In the meantime, you can take a look at what’s there now on the main page.
