My first AdSense check, and AdBrite and CrispAds and Chitika and Pheedo

by Sapphire (April 20, 2006)

I’ve finally made enough on AdSense to get paid, assuming all goes well. I’ll let you know when it happens.

In the meantime, I have some thinking to do. Do I want to continue with AdSense, and hope eventually it gets to where I can earn a check in less than a year? Or do I want to work harder with AdBrite and other networks that have lower payment minimums?

I’ve earned more with AdBrite in less than a year than I earned with AdSense in over a year. If I remove AdSense from the two sites I have it on, and put AdBrite in a better position on them, what sort of results will I see? At least with AdBrite you can sell adspace for a nice chunk of change. And set your payout minimum at whatever you want.

I’m still trying to figure out how to maximize earnings with CrispAds, Chitika and… well, I thought I’d give Pheedo another chance, since they supposedly have the largest base of advertisers outside of BlogAds. My current experiments are this:

CrispAds is on that really hard-to-match blog, and I’m trying new keywords until I find what works. Last month, it got a few clicks, but this month is dry as a bone.

AdBrite is everywhere, and I’m testing new placement, new font colors and so on to see what works. I’ve lost my regular ads that were coming in every month, so I’ve got to get something back there.

•Pheedo is just here on this site, and so far, I’ve had one click and no attempts to purchase an ad.

On the whole, I’m thinking I will most likely dump AdSense in the long run. I just find it more difficult and not particularly rewarding. This could change as my traffic grows, but that’s always true.

I never really did have much luck with CrispAds - it could have been the site I had it on - another one of those hard to place what type of ads sort of blog. I may try again with them when I get something better up and running.

I was wondering if you knew if AdBrite would offer the ability to put multiple sites under one login. I’ve not found that option yet…and was wondering if you might know?

…. good luck again with Pheedo :)

Yeah, for AdBrite, click “create new zone” and create a zone for each site.

I did better with CrispAds early on than I’ve done since. Hard to say whether it’s changes they’ve made or I’ve made.
