LinkWorth system doesn’t credit properly

by Sapphire (February 21, 2008)

When I published the LinkWorth link that I sold the other day and posted about, their system didn’t pick it up. The next morning, it still listed the link as “publishing” which means I’ve accepted it but not put it up on my site yet - I’d put it up about 18 hours before that.

I emailed them and they brushed me off, figured it’d be okay today. But this morning, it still wasn’t listed as “published” and I still hadn’t been credited. I emailed them again today and asked if I should remove the ad until they sorted themselves out, or were they going to manually check it already? And was I going to be credited for the first two days or not?

They never responded. The link did change to “published” - but I was only credited started 2/21. So the advertiser’s getting two free days of ads from me because LinkWorth’s system doesn’t work?

It’s not like this is the first time. I mean, their Wordpress plugin only worked on some sites and not others, and they could never tell you why.

My advice: the instant you publish a link, go tell them you’ve heard their new bot sucks, so they’d better go check it manually and credit you because you don’t run a free-for-all link farm. ;)

I see that link was approved on the 19th in our system….fyi. Go to your deal history and you’ll see the same thing….I just verified inside your account.

Sorry you think we suck!! ;-)

Feel free to email me directly at matt at LinkWorth dot com if you ever have any questions. We’re not a “brush-off” type of company, I assure you.

    OUCH!

Matt, my EARNINGS for that link start 2/21. Therefore I gave two free days of advertising to this client through no fault of my own.

Did I say LinkWorth sucked? Again, you need to take a closer look. I said your new bot sucked, and yeah - if it can’t do the only task it’s designed to do, I think “sucks” is the right word.

    Yes, I’ll email you.

Sapphire…these are definitely hot sports opinions :-), but please don’t hesitate in contacting Matt or I if there is an issue.

So I checked all of your account history and this is what I found.

—2 other instances occurred of publishing one day and it was approved the next. Both of these were published in the evening and approved the very next time the bot ran, which happened to be the next day. Less than a dollar difference. Every other ad was found and approved the same day.

—This one you speak of was definitely a bot issue. This was our first nofollow link our bot had to find and it had an issue. Your support ticket, which you say you were blown off on, they actually fixed the bot and your link was approved. We do apologize for the horrible grief we’ve caused you.

The total loss due to this bug was $2.76. That is a loss of $1.38 to you and $1.38 to LinkWorth. Reason I point this out is I want you to realize that this costs us money as well. If you understand this, then you’ll see that we’re motivated to fix any problems that cost you money because that same issue is costing us money.

Last thing is, we mentioned that our spider is being upgraded. There is a learning curve with our new technology. So while you say it “sucks”, you’re actually incorrect because it is 10 times better than the previous spider. Before you know it, this spider will be jumping out of your computer screen and giving you a quick back massage while it’s checking your site. :-) heh heh.

    Hope this helps.

Ron, had Mitzi responded to my second email and given me all this explanation in the first place, this post never would have happened.

I wish it would give me a back rub. ;)

Ron corrected me…you were right. Apologies!! That’s why I’m the sales guy and not in support :-)

I was just giving you a hard time about the “suck” part…hence the smiley. Just trying to diffuse the situation a little bit.

Please know that I was reaching out to you with good intentions. I hope you don’t feel like we were ignoring or brushing you off…that’s really why I wanted to comment.

No hard feelings, guys. And if the next time I sell a link it goes smoothly, I’ll post about that, too.
