Link troubles on PayPerPost

by Sapphire (November 9, 2006)

So you know that last post, the one right below this one, where I talked about getting my first PayPerPost payment? That was supposed to be a PPP post - one I was getting paid for - but so far I can’t get the submission system to accept the post: it thinks the exact link I was supposed to include isn’t in there.

Of course, WordPress has been known to do delightfully weird things to links before. I double-checked the post in the HTML editor, and sure enough it had replaced some ampersands with code. I fixed it. Still no go. I re-pasted the link. Nothing. I checked it letter by letter. I retyped it by hand, on the off-chance that coping it from their browser form had generated a weird character. Still nothing. The link was right, but it wasn’t working. (I even turned off the WYSIWYG editor altogether - still no help.)

It also shows up funky if I view source code in a browser, so there’s definitely something going on. So far, PPP hasn’t figured out what. Others on their forum are having trouble with that link, too. But even in my database, the link is exactly as it should be. Very odd.

Hi, Just want to share my experience with WP and PPP. In order to get their clear gif tracking img to work on WP. I had to start a new post edit the HTMl and past the links directly into the editor. Granted, I was using the WYSIWYG. Hope this method helps.

I stopped using the edited in WP. Too many issues.
Have you signed up for any other paid blogging services, like Blogitive? I’m registered there too, and I’ve gotten a few offers lately…I hear that they are really ramping up, so I’m interested to see where Blogitive is going next. If you sign up there, use me as a referral, won’t ya? colleen_cc@yahoo.com

Actually, Colleen, I hadn’t even heard of that one - thank you. I’ll check it out and most likely sign up, and if I do I will definitely put you as a ref.
