I feel like such an expert!

Someone on a forum just asked me how I did something on one of my blogs. They thought it was a plugin, but it’s actually just CSS. And I did have to come up with it myself, because I couldn’t find a theme that did it.
But you know, a year ago I probably would have had to ask for help. So I feel special!

Well done to you! Perhaps you should take it a step or two further and develop it into a plugin. Can be a good way to get a host of links from people recommending your plugin to do xyz, and it is a nice way to further your skills too.
Plus, it will be 1% 99% reward

You know, I’d love to learn how to write plugins, but all the sites and books I’ve looked at on the subject start out way over my head (even when they think they’re being “entry level”). Do you have any recommendations for how to teach oneself to write plugins?
