Hi. Help?

by Sapphire (December 19, 2006)

A couple of things have been bugging me for a while, and I’ve followed all the instructions to fix them, and it never works.  Today I decided to forget all that: I’m calling people direct!

Today I called Technorati.  Project B-2 Bomber ranks around 54,000 on their system, but it has never been put into their blog directory.  Conversely, 3 month old Project Mai Tai is already in the directory.  All my blogs are set to ping Technorati, so they normally get indexed almost immediately, but somehow B-2 Bomber - which is 2.5 years old - got left out.  I did everything their site said to do - I claimed it, I manually pinged, and I emailed them.  Many times.  Well, I tried to do it many times, but their contact form worked so infrequently that I only actually got 4 emails to them.  Doesn’t matter: I never got more than an automated response.  So today I called, and the person who answered explained to me they don’t do phone support.  I explained to her they don’t do email response, either.  She gave me her personal email address, with the intent of forwarding my issue to somebody who perhaps won’t just delete it instantly.  We’ll see.

And speaking of Project Mai Tai, WTF is up with Google not indexing it?  I went to Google to see how to contact someone about that, and it directed me to use Webmaster Tools to research the problem.  I signed up, verified the site, and got some confusing info: in their “crawl stats” it says most of my pages have low pagerank and a few have none.  Clearly the site is being tracked but not indexed.  This sounds like it has internal pagerank with Google, even though it’s obviously not being shown to the public.  I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but: I’ve sent them to the sitemap, I’ve submitted the URL to them… I’ll give that through the end of the year, maybe, and then see what happens.
