Glowing review for Project Mai Tai

by Sapphire (August 1, 2007)

My site, Project Mai Tai, just got this, like, glowing and detailed review with lots of juicy deep links from a user at Associated Content. Which is a PR 6 site. ;)

I can’t find anything wrong with this, and yet it just feels too good to be true. It’s a perfect, perfect review - the kind you pay $50 for.

But they mention that they saw an ad for Mai Tai at a forum where people tell each other about freebie offers. What ad? I did run Mai Tai on my free AdEngage credits, but that was a while ago. And the freebie site in question doesn’t have AdEngage ads anyway. This is the part that’s got me a little suspicious of the whole thing.

Or maybe I’m just getting too jaded from the whole webmaster gig. Mai Tai has gotten other people writing up the very sort of posts you wish everyone would write - “I found this site the other day, and it turned out to be useful!” with a link. Maybe it’s just… you know, actually useful?

You know, I’m used to this sort of thing on Project B-2 Bomber. It’s the sort of site that inspires discussion in a niche where people link without a second thought. I guess I think of Mai Tai as one of my “money site” and therefore expect it to not to get links, the way my aff sites don’t get links. I’m forgetting Mai Tai is actually a potentially handy site for some visitors.
