Giving up on CrispAds

by Sapphire (January 5, 2008)

The new owners of CrispAds are just so unresponsive, I think I have to give up on them. I was earning a decent little chunk of change that I thought might turn into some actual money down the line, but over the holidays they changed their interface so I can no longer see my earnings.  Before it was tricky to tell what they’d paid me and what I had coming and when I might get it; now it’s impossible to tell what the hell is going on.

I refuse to put up with this level of unprofessional (possibly scammy?) behavior from a company that’s had problems consistently since the end of its first year. So I’m back to AdBrite, which isn’t earning me what it used to. Any other suggestions for PPC, or preferably ad space I can sell but which is filled with PPC when it’s not sold?

Did you ever find another company?

Not really. AdBrite was a disappointment on the earnings. I just finished trying Clicksor for about a week, and that was a penny a day with 5 sites. I also tried a network called FairAdNetwork that looks promising, but they only had two or three ads for my niche. Today (and I’ll be posting on this in a few days), I finally gave in and put AdSense on a few very low-traffic sites and in one day made over $1, which is far better than I did with any other CPC network I tried.

I think there’s so much room for someone to step up and really compete with AdSense, but it’s just not happened yet. :(

i must say i agree with this post 100%!!
i used to have CrispAds (before i got fed up and deleted it off my blog) - it’s such a waste of time.
their customer service is also ridiculous.. where are the replies to our questions/emails etc.??
not to mention the fact that i never did get paid for my 1st month with CrispAds - but they can’t even find time to reply to emails, let alone distribute well-earned cash into people’s paypal accounts!

Well, you’re really going to be mad when you hear I recently got a PayPal from them for $11. According to their statistics, I was getting hits to pages that don’t have CrispAds up (I did still have it on one long-abandoned subdomain, but that isn’t supposed to be where the clicks came from!). Out of curiosity I put up some CrispAds on this site for a few weeks just to see what would happen - not much, it turns out. So I guess if I don’t run them, then every few months I can expect a payment, but if I do run them, who knows. /rolling my eyes
