Getting ripped off when you buy articles

I’d love to buy some unique articles instead of having to write them all myself, but my first attempt to do so ended with me down $10 and up zero articles.
I found an individual’s website and bought an article from her. Looking back, maybe I should’ve emailed her to make sure she was for real, but then a scammer would just be all nice nice ’til the money transferred, wouldn’t they? Anyway, there was no response at all. PayPal decided the claim in my favor, but there were no funds in her account, so tough luck. Good thing I didn’t go for $100 worth, huh?
