Further notes on JLhost.com, jlhosts.com…

…whatever they’re calling themselves these days.

I tried to cancel my account today, and the email address you’re supposed to use (sales@jlhost.com) is full, so my email came back undeliverable. It’s a little disturbing when a host makes it difficult/impossible to cancel your account in the way they suggest, isn’t it?

So I went to their support forums, and found I’m not the only one experiencing problems. I also found not one single thread in the announcement forum discussing a change of nameservers. Now, if I wanted my customers to know the DNS settings are changing, I’d post it in the forums as well as sending out emails. I’m still curious to know why I received emails from them right up until April, when they claim they sent me notification about the DNS.

I guess you just can’t monitor your hosts closely enough. It’s an easy business to be very shady in.
