Dynamic KeyWords

Here’s a little trick I just found and am testing out. Instead of trying to write an ideal headline on all of your AdWords Ads, just give ‘em what they searched for, using this syntax:

{KeyWord:Default Headline}

This causes the ad headline to read as their search term – as long as their exact search string is one of your keywords. (If not, it’ll use the Default Headline.) Added advantage: Whenever their search words show up in your ad, the words are bolded.

Let’s say I’m running an ad for a bucket selling site. I put as my ad:

{KeyWord:Tons of Buckets}
Over 3,000 Buckets – Every Size &
Style To Choose From

http://bucketwebsitehere.com

You go searching for “green square buckets”, which happens to be one of my keywords. My ad comes up on your screen as:

Green Square Buckets
Over 3,000 Buckets – Every Size &
Style To Choose From

http://bucketwebsitehere.com

Keywords highlighted. Or, if you search for “Special Sand Buckets” and that’s not one of my keywords, you’ll get:

Tons of Buckets
Over 3,000 Buckets – Every Size &
Style To Choose From

http://bucketwebsitehere.com

I’ll let you know if it helps. I’m still sucking at AdWords.
