Death of Adsense Report

by Sapphire (September 20, 2006)

I downloaded and read for myself the Death of Adsense report by Scott Boulch that’s been getting talked about on a lot of blogs lately.  For me, a lot will depend on part 2 of the report, which should be available tomorrow.  But it’s one of those things that’s worth reading, if only so you know what everyone else is talking about.

I must say, I’ve never considered AdSense viable longterm.  There’s too much click fraud out there, too many ways to subvert its purpose.  And it promotes crap on the web.  Anyone can jumble up a few WikiPedia and About.com entries, toss together a site, throw AdSense on it and make some money from frustrated clickers just trying to get the hell off your terrible site.  :D  Okay, so it’s not all that bad, but it does encourage the production of sites like that.

What Boulch is talking about… carefully priming us for in the next to-be-released chapter… that’s what I can’t evaluate until I see it.  I’m not sure where he’s going.  At this point all I can say is that I gave up on AdSense a while back, and I haven’t missed it.

This report is great. After reading it, I totally agree that Google AdSense is dead! I can’t believe the author is giving it away for free at http://deathofadsensereport.blogspot.com

I’m with you! I gave up on Adsense as well.

By the way, part 2 of the report is now available. It’s called “Life After AdSense.” Both parts can be download at http://deathofadsensereport.blogspot.com

    Very interesting stuff!
