CrispAds Gets Weird, Pheedo still MIA

by Sapphire (September 28, 2005)

I’ve temporarily removed most of my CrispAds while I wait to see where the flies are gonna land.

Everything was perfect, two weeks ago. I set my own keywords, and I got the sort of ads I wanted. It was more controllable than AdSense, and I was happy. Then they started this thing where they’re tailoring keywords for you while they try some beta thing or another and I’m getting ads for “Get laid tonight - extremely discreet” on my sites.

That’s my cue to sorta back away slowly and see what happens. Hopefully they’ll come up with something really good in the long run.

Remember Pheedo? I reported they might be doing a runner, and a guy from the company responded in my comments, and we chatted back and forth. He invited me to take part in a panel of webmasters helping them retool the Pheedo system and make it better than ever. While I agreed not to get into specifics about what we were asked or anything, I will say that after a couple of emails, either I’ve been dropped from the group or nothing has happened. The last email was well over a month ago. So I’m not sure what’s going on there. Is anybody running Pheedo? Getting paid by them? I don’t see their ads around, but then again I’m been wicked crazy busy with link and site building, trying to score the holidays.

Just wanted to let you know that CrispAds were re-tooling their advertisers…. again. A couple of weeks ago I was happy as a clam as well - we could categorize our advertisers on our blogs to make some decent $$ and then suddenly I’m advertising for lawyers again… LOL. I did get an email the other day from Cadman over at CrispAds to say that everything is back up and running. I’ve decided to give them another try - I liked the fact that he personally contacted me about it…. which is totally weird for an ad network to do - but he did and so I’ll see what happens.
