Consumer Reviews on Retailer Sites

Have you seen this stuff? Check out the customer reviews at the bottom of this page on Target.com’s site: Target : Portland Bed in a Bag Collection

A lot of the reviews I’ve looked at are very negative, and yet they remain posted. Is this a bad business move for Target, or are they building trust?

It seems to be working on me. Target’s not the only one doing this. I’m finding myself going to the sites that offer these reviews, because quite frankly there is just no way to guess whether things are hard to assemble, destined to unravel, or just plain sucky. I like having the opportunity to see what some other customers thought.
