CMS and Affiliate Marketing Sites
by Sapphire (June 19, 2005)
I have an affiliate marketing site that’s just kind of swirling the bowl right now, and I have a wacky idea that could destroy an affiliate marketing site, and I thought… these two items are just meant for each other. It’s like the website is a patient with a 3% chance of survival, and I’m a mad scientist who’s been looking to try something out. Bwahahahaha!
I’m going to try it as a CMS instead of an html site. This will make it a lot easier to update, to change pages around, to keep it fresh with new content.
This is not that fascinating, you say. What’s so dangerous about this? Other people have done this!
Yes, but those people knew what they were doing! The excitement of this adventure lies in the fact that I don’t. And I’m going to give you some details on how badly this little site is sucking, and then update you on its progress (or egress) as time goes by.
That is, of course, assuming I can even set it up. Odds are I won’t even be able to get it up and running, get the URL’s SE-friendly, get the page links where I want and how I want. I’ll probably give up midway through (which is okay, because this will all be happening in a subdirectory, until/unless I can get it to work, in which place I’ll put it on in place of the main pages).
