Blogkits and Overstock – money opportunity for bloggers
I signed two of my blogs up for BlogKits today – and also for the BlogKits/Overstock deal. BlogKits matches blogs with people who want to put ads on their blogs. To sign up, you just fill out the form with your info, then stick a bit of invisible tracking HTML on your blog’s pages. If any of their advertisers like your blog and its numbers for whatever they’re selling, they contact you with a proposal, which you take or leave as you choose.
The deal with Overstock is a bit sweeter – you get special Overstock banners to put on your site, all of which say “Support This Blog”. Consider that most affiliate type sites don’t exactly encourage us letting our visitors know that if they buy from our ads, we make money.
Signing up for the Overstock deal puts you in an affiliate partnership with LinkShare, an affiliate marketing broker who’s been around for years. While I’ve never had much luck making money with them, due to their payment structure, they’ve never shared my info or anything untoward, so I think you’re safe to sign up for this offer.
I’ll report on how it works for me. I’m currently waiting for my banners to arrive in email.
