Validate your Feed
Feedvalidator.org lets you know where mistakes are in your feed, making it easier to fix them. Invalid feeds will not run, so with a new blog, it can’t hurt to check daily. (Only takes a few seconds.)
Stats
Want to know exactly what your visitors are looking at on your site? And for how long? And where they came from? And in real time? Try AXS. It even self-installs automatically if you fill in your ftp information! (Manual install available if you prefer.) For blogs, you really need more information than the pre-packaged server stat scripts offer.
Cool Tools
- Create a gorgeous version of your feed, complete with Amazon associate ads and other money-makers, that works with every feed format & then some. Offers some great publicity tools and very helpful stats. You can convert all your feeds over to this so you always know who’s reading on feed. PING SERVICES:
Ping these services every time you publish an entry. This is the best and most effective way to promote your blog and get it in front of readers. And it’s free. Most blogging software allows you to do it automatically (see your documentation or user forums for instructions). The very worst thing about it is that it takes a few minutes. If you don’t have time to ping everybody, just ping Ping-O-Matic. Check this list for updates!
