Better stats tracking than AwStats?

Has anyone found a better stats tracking package than AwStats? On two different sites this month, on two different hosts, I’ve had AwStats simply not report any unique visitors for a day or more in a row, while StatCounter.com confirms I have indeed had the normal number of uniques on those days.

I like StatCounter – it provides info AwStats doesn’t, such as whichy keyphrase was used on which search engine. And the ability to map an individual visitor is fabulous. But I think I’d like something you can install on your server and check independently. I used to have one I really liked, then it stopped working, and there were no updates to it.

Think I’m off to Hotscripts to see what I can find. If you guys already have something you recommend, I’d love to hear it. If not, I’ll report back if I find something good.

I too have attempted to get my names ‘away’ from GoDaddy. I believe their tactics to be deliberately misleading. I’ve read thru some of the ICANN rules and cannot explicitly find where they are allowed to ‘hold onto’ domains post-expiry. I have other domains with Network Solutions and would like to consolidate them all with a reputable company. And twice, post-expiry GoDaddy has rejected the transfer request. For no other reason than to attempt to get my renewal money (from what I can tell), it is clear that I am the proper domain owner so they are ‘choosing’ to be sore losers.
I plan to file complaints with ICANN and the Federal Trade Commission. May I point them to your forum for addt’l. details?

Yes, you’re welcome to point them here. That’s interesting research you’ve done, and I hope you get somewhere.

It just doesn’t make sense to me they could hold it post-expiry. That’s like the previous owner somehow keeping a house for 60 days after escrow has closed.

I just put in a transfer of the domain GoDaddy’s holding, so we’ll see if it goes through this time.
