Added free web services

by Sapphire (June 10, 2005)

I added a section of free webservices to the site. It’s a collection of scripts hosted by Bravenet, so you don’t need to know any php or CGI or any of that neat stuff to use them.

I’ve used them for at least 5 years on various sites, and I know them to be good and reliable. There’s a “tell a friend” script that you can customize into a box on your site, reducing one click in that process. The email forms are pretty painless to set up - when I first started designing sites, that one was the easiest and most reliable way to get customer feedback. I even used it as an order form for one site.

There’s also e-Cards and password protection scripts, a links free-for-all script where you can modify your categories and approve links (actually would serve as a directory), site search, a forum, FAQ service, life chat, task calendar… lot of good stuff to check out.
