Ad networks, work habits and traffic

Oy. I wrote this whole big long post, but my server logs me out every 5 minutes or so, so the short version is… the software ate it. I hate that. I’ll reconstruct it from memory as best I can.

I’ve been ridiculously busy offline lately, and I don’t have a lot to report here. I dumped Pheedo for CrispAds once again, because Pheedo was performing about as well as the white space on my sites.

None of these little ad network experiments mean much yet: you need to have 10,000 uniques per month before you can expect decent ad sales, and none of my sites are anywhere near that yet. This one is stuck in the 3,000’s. The “B-2 Bomber” is advancing slowly but steadily, and has a shot in hell of hitting 4,000 this month. (This is with a small community of authors posting at least once per day, now.) But until I hit that 10,000 mark, I’m cooking with Playdoh.

I haven’t gotten around to doing any of the things I had planned for my affiliate sites yet. Today I’m submitting them to new directories, and then I’m going to work on my own directory submissions.
