Ad Network Update: Burstmedia, TextLinkAds, AdBrite, PayPerPost

by Sapphire (January 10, 2007)

I’ve been using BurstMedia’s Direct ads for several months now on a couple of sites.  They got off to a slow start on earnings, and didn’t really get all that much better for me.  Maybe on a website with more traffic than mine get, they would perform just fine.

The other problem for me, however, was that many of their advertisers wanted popunders, which I refuse to put on my sites.   So I was only able to use some of their advertisers.  Plus, some had regional campaigns or rather tacky dating and weight loss type ads, which I don’t put on my sites.  It might work very well for someone who doesn’t mind running popunders and gets more traffic than I do.

I’m still fond of AdBrite, because I can sell slots at bulk rates as well as get some PPC.  continues to astonish me - I’ve got domains I haven’t touched in months getting 4-6 ad sales every month (at very decent rates)!  And PayPerPost, I haven’t even looked at in weeks, mostly because I’ve been busy on other things.  But I have to admit, the last time I sniffed around there, none of the offers appealed to me.  Seems people are getting more and more picky, and making a blogger really work for that $5!  It’s getting to where the money doesn’t justify the time I spend on posts.
