Ad Buying adventures

I bought an ad a couple of days ago to promote Project Mai Tai. So far, the click through rate is almost 3%. But the blog I ran the ad on has only had about 1200+ impressions in 36 hours, which means I’ve gotten 36 clicks in 36 hours, which means (if that rate holds up) I may get about 168 click-throughs from it by the end of the week I paid for. If they would all sign up for the feed (no jump so far), I’d consider it worthwhile, but as it is I don’t think this is a great result for $20.

The good news is: the CTR suggests my ad is good. At the end of the week, we’ll know if my site’s sticky (at least, to the audience of the other site) because even with just 168 visitors I ought to get some new feed subscribers. If all that’s in order, then it’s just a matter of finding better sites to advertise on.
