I’ve been keeping all my webmaster notes in a WordPress blog for a while, and it’s getting to be a pain to find things. And, being database driven, it’s not the fastest-running thing on earth. None of the database-free Wikis I’ve found quite do what I want. TiddlyWiki rocks, but it’s for your PC, not [...]

FireFox IS sucking
March 10, 2007
I asked the question a couple of weeks ago, and now I’m able to confirm that the latest update to FireFox blows. Oh, it’s not crashing or anything like that. It’s just caching sites when they go down, and then serving up the cached (down) version until you empty the cache or (in some cases) [...]
Is Firefox sucking?
February 26, 2007
Is it just me, or have the last few updates of FireFox sucked? I’m having extremely slow pageloads on a lot of sites, and I’m getting that old error message of doom about a script that’s screwing everything up, and you can hit “stop” or “continue” even though it doesn’t really make any difference.
It’s not [...]
Search solution for IE 7 and Firefox 2
October 19, 2006
I just upgraded to Firefox 2 today, and I came across something very cool that works with it and IE7. It’s called the Open Search List, and it’s a maintained list of (I’m guessing) roll-your-own search engines.
You know that top right hand corner search bar in both browsers? In Firefox, it’s Google (by [...]
Awesome screen capture software
October 12, 2006
I’m horrible with screen captures. I hate doing them because I find the steps complicated. I mean, doing them isn’t too difficult, but then you have to save them locally, and then you have to FTP them to a server and all that. I just find it a pain in the ass.
I [...]
SiteSell giving stuff away free
October 9, 2006
A pal of mine was kind enough to notify me that SiteSell is giving away two ebooks for free: Make Your Site Sell and Make Your Content Presell. I haven’t had much time to glance through them yet, but I think you’ll find good solid tips on making your copywriting pop and probably a lot [...]
Simple ad rotator script
May 13, 2006
ETA: a fix (scroll down)
If you want a really simple ad rotator, try this one from FlashHere.com. No ads, no control panel, no MySQL database. You just upload to your server a php file (the script) and a text file. Then you paste the ad code into that text file, one ad [...]
Drupal is cool
July 18, 2005
I know I talked about using Mambo on something, but I opted for Drupal instead. You can see it in action at my new directory/articles site, ChillyCool. My main reason was, I kept reading about how SEO-friendly Drupal was. And they’re right.
Getting Drupal to generate static urls in place of dynamic ones [...]
Experimenting with Mambo
July 12, 2005
Remember a while back, I said I was going to convert one of my underperforming affiliate marketing sites from straight HTML to a CMS format, just to see how it worked? Well, I didn’t forget. Nor did I get busy doing other things. What held me up was: security issues.
I was running [...]
Learning Mambo
June 28, 2005
I finally decided to buckle down and learn Mambo. I’ve always found it short on documentation, but they seem to be getting it together lately. And the interface seems to work better than I remember from my last attempt. And I found a really good Mambo tutorial by Anna that really speaks [...]
