…and while I was changing over my /* settings from sitewide to single page, it bumped up the price on one of them by $5. The only recent change to that site is that it got indexed in Google, finally (yes, Project Mai Tai) but it had PR for months before that, or else [...]

Playing with ads - mostly TextLinkAds and Bidvertiser
April 18, 2007
This week, I’ve applied to a couple of heavy hitting ad companies, and one of them actually wants to talk to me - I’ll let you know where that goes.
Today, I’ve been doing stuff with ads. I’ve replaced AdBrite with Bidvertiser in one space - I’m still waiting to see how AdEngage performs, and then [...]
Ad Networks for Bloggers - My Experiences
April 15, 2007
Over the years, I’ve tried a few ad networks. It’s been a while since I did a report on how they all work for me, so here goes.
/* . Unbeatable. Sell direct ads to websites (carefully screened to weed out porn, gambling, etc.). Takes up very little screen real estate, loads quickly, sells well. Great [...]
Trying AdEngage
April 13, 2007
As you can see, I’m giving AdEngage a try. Wil suggested several other ad networks which I may also try out in the near future (I’ve applied to a couple of them).
I like how the ad is set up to fit into your space instead of requiring me to make sure my column is wide [...]
What would you replace AdBrite with?
April 11, 2007
I’ve done well in the past with AdBrite, pulling in $20-40 every month back when that seemed like a decent chunk of change. Now that /* is dumping $250+ per month in my PayPal, those little AdBrite checks are becoming just another errand I have to run (to deposit them at the bank).
The reason [...]
Thanks, Bonnie!
April 6, 2007
Bonnie just signed up under me on /* , for which I got paid $25. I figured that was worth a public thank you and a link to her site. (Bonnie, if you have another site in mind, let me know and I’ll link to that.)
Attracting advertisers
March 21, 2007
Problogger has this to say about attracting advertisers to a blog. What do you guys think of the suggestions mentioned here? For example, is sharing your stats with potential advertisers a good idea if those stats are unimpressive? Maybe it is, as long as your prices are in line with the stats.
All of my sites [...]
Project 2168: the beginning
March 19, 2007
Last week I mentioned Project 2168, in which I will be building as many new sites as I can along the lines of the low-maintenance sites I have that bring in between $21 and $68 per month in ad sales. I started on this project over the weekend, and there’s good news:
I can use subdomains [...]
PayPerPost opps paying more
March 12, 2007
A couple of months ago, I posted about PayPerPost’s change in terms. One of those changes was that opps now had to pay at least $5. My initial concern was that they might be pricing themselves out of the market, and the number of available opportunities would drop. One of the other [...]
January ‘07 tally
February 1, 2007
This month, without much effort, I made $281. That’s mostly from /* . Other sources were AdBrite, ReviewMe, a featured link I sold on a directory, and a smidgeon of PayPerPost. I could’ve done more with PayPerPost and topped $300 easy, but it just wasn’t happening this month.
Not a single affiliate sale, but I guess [...]
