I’m venturing into the world of selling text links directly and cutting out the commission. You can buy a text link ad for considerably less this way than by going through /* or LinkWorth. The catch? They’re no-follow.
You can check out the Marketplace for all sorts of info about advertising here, but be aware [...]

CrispAds’ response
October 1, 2007
I did get a response from CrispAds. They don’t know why my emails sent via their contact form didn’t get answered, but are looking into it. So if you’re having trouble with them, skip that online form and send a real email to support@… and you should get an answer within a few hours.
They explained [...]
Is anyone getting paid by CrispAds?
October 1, 2007
I still haven’t received a reply to my query about when CrispAds is going to pay me, and why they haven’t paid me in accord with their FAQ. In my experience, that either means the company doesn’t know how to read email, or they’re not paying. And if they’re inept at reading email, well, that’s [...]
CrispAds: not paying and not answering emails
September 26, 2007
Once upon a time, CrispAds paid like clockwork. Then they stopped paying altogether. I made many efforts to contact them, to no avail. Then CrispAds was sold to a new owner, who actually paid me my balance. So I started using them again.
Their FAQ still says you get paid at the end of the following [...]
BlogHer Ads and paid/sponsored posts
September 3, 2007
The BlogHer ad system is working as well as I expected in my original post, so I applied for this site and one other. The other site, they accepted once they’d reviewed it a bit. This one, however, had an issue: paid posts. BlogHer ads has a very specific policy which disallows paid reviews and [...]
BlogHer Ads rocks!
August 23, 2007
I just started running BlogHer CPM ads on Project B-2 Bomber, and I think this is the revenue source that site has been looking for since day one. As you may recall, that site’s in a tight niche that’s not overwhelmingly attractive to every advertiser, but it gets 15k visitors per month and is growing [...]
Dumping Azoogle for CrispAds
August 17, 2007
I exchanged some emails with my Azoogle account manager. I got a good explanation as to why I was getting clicks on campaigns I hadn’t signde up for (international visitors get redirected to those when they’re in countries that can’t participate in the offer I signed up for). I also got some reasonable suggestions about [...]
Adsense sucks (for me); CrispAds much better
July 30, 2007
I tested AdSense Link units on one of my sites recently. I got one click almost immediately and thought that was a good sign. But no, the first click was also the last click I got. I replaced it all with CrispAds, and the clicks are eeking in, which is all I can expect from [...]
Earnings back up
July 27, 2007
After a disappointing May and June, my July earnings (currently $366) are close to beating my all time record ($377, which I hit in 2006 the month I sold a huge item for a $250 commission).
Actually, the main reason I did this well was Sponsored Reviews, which sent me a couple of opps earlier this [...]
Over 500 clicks and no actions? And AdSense Link Units
July 23, 2007
I’ve got Azoogle ads running on several sites. So far this month, I’ve had over 500 clicks, but not one action. Does that sound normal? Seriously, I’m asking. If not, what am I doing wrong?
Wrong ads for sites? Maybe I’m not picking the right ads because I don’t really understand what my visitors are interested [...]
