I bought an ad a couple of days ago to promote Project Mai Tai. So far, the click through rate is almost 3%. But the blog I ran the ad on has only had about 1200+ impressions in 36 hours, which means I’ve gotten 36 clicks in 36 hours, which means (if that rate holds [...]

I sold two 125×125 ads within just a few days of announcing they were available. There’s one spot left; we’ll see how long it takes to sell. I didn’t actually get around to rustling up clients on my own, which is still something I believe I need to learn to do. But I’m quite pleased [...]

I’ve created some advertising options on this site that do not pass pagerank. This post is both an announcement to potential advertisers and, for my usual readers, a log of what I’m doing so we can see if it works.
Basically, I’ve set up four 125 x 125 banner zones, all no-followed in the [...]

I said in a comment on Mark’s Blog that I imagined the recent pagerank slap had been achieved in part by Googlebots somehow detecting the use of big text link agencies like text link ads. Yesterday, I got an email from TLA asking me to update my Wordpress plugins.
The new plugin forces you to make [...]

WP Text Ads lets you sell ads with no broker commissions and – get this – no-follow tags if you want ‘em. I’m wondering if this could be a solution to the paid text ads issue.
This service is a ways away from being able to compete with TextLinkAds, LinkWorth and other biggies, but it does [...]

I’m venturing into the world of selling text links directly and cutting out the commission. You can buy a text link ad for considerably less this way than by going through TextLinkAds or LinkWorth. The catch? They’re no-follow.
You can check out the Marketplace for all sorts of info about advertising here, but be aware I’ve [...]

I still haven’t received a reply to my query about when CrispAds is going to pay me, and why they haven’t paid me in accord with their FAQ. In my experience, that either means the company doesn’t know how to read email, or they’re not paying. And if they’re inept at reading email, well, that’s [...]

I exchanged some emails with my Azoogle account manager. I got a good explanation as to why I was getting clicks on campaigns I hadn’t signde up for (international visitors get redirected to those when they’re in countries that can’t participate in the offer I signed up for). I also got some reasonable suggestions about [...]

I tested AdSense Link units on one of my sites recently. I got one click almost immediately and thought that was a good sign. But no, the first click was also the last click I got. I replaced it all with CrispAds, and the clicks are eeking in, which is all I can expect from [...]

I’ve got Azoogle ads running on several sites. So far this month, I’ve had over 500 clicks, but not one action. Does that sound normal? Seriously, I’m asking. If not, what am I doing wrong?
Wrong ads for sites? Maybe I’m not picking the right ads because I don’t really understand what my visitors are interested [...]
