Note: found the fix.
I’ve updated to Wordpress 2.3 and discovered “is_home” doesn’t work - and not just if you use a static page as your first page. Somehow, Wordpress seems to be interpreting every “page” as the home page. My home-only stuff is showing up on Page 2, 3, etc. as well as all my [...]

CrispAds: not paying and not answering emails
September 26, 2007
Once upon a time, CrispAds paid like clockwork. Then they stopped paying altogether. I made many efforts to contact them, to no avail. Then CrispAds was sold to a new owner, who actually paid me my balance. So I started using them again.
Their FAQ still says you get paid at the end of the following [...]
Welcome, new readers!
September 24, 2007
It’s the latest “all the kidz R doing it” rage to write a welcome post when you notice more people are subscribing to your feed of late. Since that is the case here at AMJ, here’s my idea of a suitable welcome post that doesn’t waste your time thanking you for doing something you didn’t [...]
To incorporate or not to incorporate
September 23, 2007
As I researched incorporation, I started noticing a lot of remarks along the lines of:
“…which the state does not charge. Except California.”
Guess where I live. Yes, folks, to incorporate at all, even if I’m operating at a loss or put the business on hold for a few months at some point, I have to pay [...]
Forming a staff on an amateur blog
September 20, 2007
Quick recap: Project B-2 Bomber started as a hobby, a place for me to spout off about some things. To my surprise, other authors wanted to contribute posts regularly. That site now has a number of regular authors and some occasional contributors.
I recently announced to my regular authors that I want to make us into [...]
Domains on SEDO
September 20, 2007
I have a couple of domains that I was about to dump, but then I remembered Terry at SuperAff talking about parking domains with SEDO, and tried that instead. They turn it into a sort of search page and you get earnings from clicks.
My domains have very strange names - can’t imagine them being typos [...]
Incorporating my small business
September 17, 2007
I’ve been a bit quiet lately because I’ve been looking into incorporating. This year, about 60% of what I earned will go to state and federal governments, unless I make a contribution to one of my retirement funds to circumvent that. Which is fine for now - I don’t need this year’s profits right this [...]

For including me in this list of top affiliate marketing blogs here. I’m getting some nice traffic from that page.
Musing on stats, feedreaders and stuff
September 11, 2007
Project B-2 Bomber has been stuck all this summer around the 15,000 uniques/month mark. But almost every day, the Feedburner stats creep up a few digits. This probably means more of my regular readers are discovering the magic of feedreaders. My bookmark rate is falling at about the rate my Feedburner stats go up, which [...]
BlogHer Ads and paid/sponsored posts
September 3, 2007
The BlogHer ad system is working as well as I expected in my original post, so I applied for this site and one other. The other site, they accepted once they’d reviewed it a bit. This one, however, had an issue: paid posts. BlogHer ads has a very specific policy which disallows paid reviews and [...]
