Damn. I just got a huge commission with CJ for a sale. Keep in mind there’s always a chance this sale will get canceled before I see a penny of it - or, apparently, I could get paid and then have CJ bill me if it gets canceled later. Rules like that are the reason [...]

Yahoo! Click Fraud Lawsuit
August 26, 2006
Yes, there’s a class action suit against Yahoo! for click fraud allegations. I’ve received a letter stating that I’m included in the suit, even though I don’t remember ever buying any PPC advertising through Yahoo’s search marketing system. Ever. Still, I don’t know how many class action suits I’ve been included in [...]
Removing direct ad offer
August 25, 2006
I’ve decided to remove the option to buy sidebar advertising directly from me. For the time being, at least, I’ll be relying on TextLinkAds and AdBrite to provide my advertising. Why? Frankly, it’s becoming a hassle, handling it myself.
Both TLA and AdBrite do a good job of screening out drug sites, porn sites, gambling sites [...]
The new Affiliate Marketing Journal
August 24, 2006
As you may have noticed, I’ve migrated Affiliate Marketing Journal to Wordpress and gotten a new template. I believe this will improve some issues with loading time and spam. If you notice anything funky, or find the template unreadable, or anything like that, please feel free to comment. I may not make every requested change, [...]
Tagging and social bookmarking
August 20, 2006
I’ve been Technorati tagging my own entries on this blog and a couple of others for a while - i.e., putting my own tags at the bottom of every entry. The blogs I tag don’t get a lot of traffic from Technorati. Meanwhile, I’ve got a couple of other blogs I don’t apply [...]
Why AdSense and Yahoo!Publisher don’t work for me
August 18, 2006
Google AdSense and Yahoo! Publisher are reporting fewer and fewer impressions on sites that I know are getting over 100 visitors per day. Even assuming AwStats is inflated, I should be getting more than 4 impressions, right?
I guess they’re geo-targeting the traffic, and not counting impressions made by people from regions outside the target [...]
Hacked
August 14, 2006
I came to check my site tonight, and it was breaking with parse errors. My first thought was that somehow the file breaking it had gotten an extra blank line added at the end - which can sometimes mess up php pages. So I opened the file and went to the end, and [...]
Directory maintenance tip
August 8, 2006
I had several thousand directory submissions to go through the other day, between two directories I maintain. Instead of using the directory software interface for reviewing and approving them, I’ve started going straight into the database where I can see enough info to delete an awful lot of them on site.
I can also see [...]
An Ad Network report
August 7, 2006
I was going to do a recap of all the ad networks I’ve tried so far, and what I think of them, but that would have to include a couple of negative reviews. Rather than be negative, I’m just going to discuss the ones I’m liking so far, and why I’m liking them. [...]
Re-thinking my time
August 3, 2006
I’ve decided to stop building affiliate sites full of complicated product links that take tons of time to maintain, and really don’t yield anymore income than far simpler ones I’ve got. That way, I’ll have more time to build more sites and enhance the ones I’ve got. And link build, link build, link [...]
