Am I the only one who wishes sites would stop reporting Alexa rankings like they mean anything at all? For example, this site ranks around 70,000. Another site of mine, which sometimes surpasses this one for traffic, ranks somewhere in the 5 millions.
Isn’t Alexa supposed to give people some idea how [...]

Adbrite’s new interface & options
July 10, 2006
AdBrite has introduced a new option for the type of ads you want to run on your site: “Slightly edgier ads (edgy but still no adult, no gambling, no viagra type ads)”. The other option is “Only clean, family-friendly ads”.
I tried out the edgy option, and got ads for breast augmentation, and with headlines [...]
Text Link Ad’s referral program
July 8, 2006
As I mentioned a few days ago, I’ve already started earning with TextLinkAds, and they pay at the end of the month, every month - no minimum with PayPal.
Well, now I’ve earned an affiliate bonus of $25 for referring someone to TLA. You earn one of those for everyone you refer who becomes a [...]
Is your host old enough to vote?
July 6, 2006
I posted a few days ago that one of my webhosts, Infexion.net, had gone down without explanation or communication. This wasn’t the first time, so I found other hosting and canceled the account.
Recently, I received some very interesting information about the guy who runs Infexion.net, Seth Baumgartner. Seth is a 16 year old [...]
Gee, ya think?
July 5, 2006
I haven’t had any affiliate sales this month yet. That’s not unusual, especially given the holiday weekend. I only had one sale last month. Today I went to one of my sites to check something. The front page looked good, so I tried to navigate to another page.
It stayed on the [...]
First TextLinkAds Payment
July 3, 2006
I signed up with TextLinkAds a couple of weeks ago, sold a link, and got my first payment this morning. Because these links are direct from my site to the buyer’s, TLA is able to charge more for them than a third-party service like AdBrite. And of course, buyers who wouldn’t likely find [...]
Be careful with PayPal payment system
July 2, 2006
Just a quick alert here. If you’re purchasing something online and they have a system that automatically sends you to Ebay’s PayPal to pay and then back to their site to confirm your order, be very, very careful about backing out at the last minute.
I recently went to purchase hosting, and realized at the [...]
Hosts suck - and always in early July
July 2, 2006
What’s the deal with hosts that suddenly disappear at the end of June - end of the fiscal year?
Last year, I had several sites go down in early July, so I had to rush and find new hosts - which was difficult because apparently all the hosts were busy taking the vacation I should have [...]
