This would have been my first month getting a check from CJ, but they decided it was ever so much nicer not to pay me at all. A lot of other affiliates aren’t getting paid everything they’re owed, and what’s worse is there’s no explanation that I can make sense of, and apparently I’m [...]

CJ not paying me this month

Hosting Hell
August 29, 2005
It’s been a rough month for hosts this August. And for those hosted by them.
Two of my most reliable hosts had significant downtime this month because of database connectivity issues, and I read about many others on the boards. The server would be up, but the databases weren’t. One host was particularly [...]
3 sales, 1 merchant
August 27, 2005
I got another commission from my affiliate site that I thought would never take off. It’s only had 85 unique visitors this month, but it’s generated two sales this month and one last month, all with quite decent commissions. It’s worth noting that all the sales have come from one particular merchant (my [...]
CrispAds Makes Major Improvements
August 25, 2005
Look at the sidebar - it’s about midway down the page. It’s CrispAds, with a new look, and so far, it’s looking good.
CrispAds has made some serious changes within the last few days. I haven’t seen a formal announcement of this in detail anywhere (just a quick blurb at the bottom of their [...]
Hailing Commission Junction, Yoohoo!
August 24, 2005
Troubles with CJ’s network are still continuing, two weeks after they went offline to… er, what was that again? I’m trying to build pages of product links, and here’s what I’m seeing.
Really, really slow load times on pretty much every page.
Timeouts or “connection refused” on many pages, including the login screen, their product links [...]
Is it that hard to load a php site?
August 22, 2005
I have a couple of sites that are pure HTML, but most of mine are php-driven. CMS or blog interfaces. And I keep seeing the same problem on every host: database failures to connect. The pure HTML sites would load - even a pure HTML page on an otherwise php-driven site would [...]
CJ needs a laxative
August 19, 2005
Things don’t seem to be moving very well over at CJ since their big whatever-it-was last weekend that made the site read-only for four days. Now it’s not even read-only… it’s don’t even bother only. It’s just try to stay logged in, sucker only.
I had put aside some time this week to rebuild [...]
Yo, casino spammers
August 18, 2005
If you’re one of the folks who keep leaving a bunch of poker/casino type keywords in the form of a comment on this blog, here are a few questions you may want to ask yourself:
Have I yet seen one single solitary one of these comments be posted on this particular blog?
Have I received any benefit [...]
Another commission and some new plans in the works
August 16, 2005
I just got another commission from the affiliate site I thought was going to flop. Considering it only has about 50 unique visitors so far this month, that’s definitely turning my head. I’ve been concentrating more on CPC and selling ad space - with mixed results, some pretty decent - but now I’m [...]
Pheedo and Google Sitemaps
August 12, 2005
Minor updates on two things I talked about this week:
The Google sitemap thing is SO working for me. If your site’s already well-indexed, you may not see much of a change. But for a new site, this thing is da bomb. On this site, which I thought was well-indexed, I’ve gotten 200 [...]
